Joseph Miscannon
In
April 2002, Joe Miscannon contacted Gateway to help him find steady
employment. Not long after, Joe was employed by a local school district
in his area to do custodial work. Because
there was not enough work to keep him steadily working, Joe decided to
seek other employment with the help of Gateway.
On
November 24, 2002, Joe was extremely happy to start working with the
Interboro School District doing custodial work as before.
Joe was hired to work as needed for the district, with the
promise that as people retired, he would move closer to becoming a full
time permanent employee of the district.
The
school district is keeping Joe working a full five days a week, and even
though school officially closes every summer, Joe and the rest of his
team are kept busy throughout the season.
Joe’s boss, the Director of Custodial Services, cannot say enough good
things about Joe. He is
extremely pleased with Joe’s work, and added that he knows that he can
always count on Joe to do a superb job.
He is also grateful that Joe is so reliable; he is always there
as scheduled, and on time.
As a
result of Joe being an excellent employee, he will soon be hired as a
permanent school district employee.

Outstanding
Achievement Award for 2003
Last
October, Gateway Employment Resources held a Meet and Greet as part of a
joint venture with the MONTCO Chamber of Commerce’s business card
exchange. Members of the community came out to observe National
Disability Employment Awareness Month and honor some of those placed in
local jobs by Gateway.
Honored by Gateway were Dana Schwartz, who works at the Media Acme and
Karen Peterson, who works at the DoubleTree Guest Suites in Plymouth
Meeting.
